Ocean View Barn, Germoe
Initial Assessment & Building Control Package
We were instructed across two phases for this barn conversion development project in Germoe.
Initially we assisted our clients and their architects by undertaking a site visit to inspect the existing barn foundations and block work superstructure. We then provided an assessment of our findings and suitability of the barn for conversion and the use of the existing foundations in the development. Further more we provided structural engineering services for Building Control submission.
The design provided included initial markups to indicate proposed structural solutions, structural engineering calculations for the agreed scheme and a calculation report for Building Control. We also provided structural engineering general arrangement plans and details for the works.
The development is well under way and we look forward to seeing the finished conversion.
How can Form help?
Whether you will need a structural engineer for your next renovation project will depend on the nature of your plans, but they are often required for solar panel installation, beam calculations, loft conversions, door and window modification, internal wall changes, underpinning, and chimney removal. Essentially, any project that alters the structure of the building or requires building control approval will require the expertise of a structural engineer.
